Installation

MagnaClean® Professional is suitable for all central heating systems. Locate a site for your MagnaClean Professional allowing access for servicing. DO NOT FIT BETWEEN BOILER AND VENT PIPE ON CONVENTIONAL SYSTEMS. In both diagrams, position A is best practice while B is suitable.

Drain central heating system. Professional installers will be able to plug-off F and E tank and release system pressure. Measure and mark a 105mm section for a 22mm unit and a 190mm for a 28mm unit.

Using a suitable cutter, remove the marked section of pipe.

Assemble the valves onto the pipes, hand-tight, lubricating the olives with jointing paste. Secure the MagnaClean unit to the valves - without washers. DO NOT over-tighten the flange nuts.

Grip the MagnaClean canister and tighten the compression fittings. Again, do not over-tighten. Loosen valve flanges and
install rubber seals.
Refill heating system.

Add a chemical inhibitor. See chemical dosing section opposite. OPEN BOTH ISOLATION VALVES - (1/4 TURN).
Vent unit from bleed screw.

Run central heating system for
at least five minutes and check for leaks. Service MagnaClean as detailed opposite. This will give an indication of the condition of
the system.

Run the central heating system while checking for leaks. Attach the self-adhesive label to the boiler, indicating the date of installation, serial number and location of the filter. Always service the filter before leaving the premises. The lid and valve spanner can be left with
the customer.

N.B. MagnaClean Professional should only be installed by a competent person.
If in any doubt, consult a qualified heating engineer.

Servicing

IMPORTANT -
TURN OFF ELECTRICAL POWER TO BOILER. TURN-OFF BOTH ISOLATION VALVES
(1/4 TURN).

Loosen air vent to release
internal pressure.

Using the MagnaClean Professional lid spanner, carefully unscrew the lid.

Remove complete lid assembly from the MagnaClean canister. Turn the lid assembly upside down in order that the underside of the lid acts as a drip tray.

Wrap paper towelling around the build-up of sludge on the plastic sheath.

Remove the sheath over a
bucket or sink and rinse.
Replace the sheath on the magnet and re-fit the lid. Turn on isolation valves and bleed unit. Run central heating system
and check for leaks.

Chemical dosing

With a standard radiator key remove the Pro-Fill air vent.  The built-in, one way valve will prevent water from escaping. Attach chemical adaptor and feed in chemical.

Wait for five seconds before removing the adaptor. The Pro-Fill air vent will accept all market-leading chemicals in liquid or concentrate form.

Replace the Pro-Fill air vent.
Allow the system to circulate for 30 seconds. Open Pro-Fill screw two turns and back flush
until clear.

IMPORTANT: Always follow the Standard Electrical Best Practice guidelines when installing MagnaClean Professional.
