Frequently asked questions

1.  Can the MagnaCleanse hose to valve (HTV) connections be used with a MagnaClean TwinTech?

Yes. The MagnaCleanse connections can be used with any of ADEY’s domestic magnetic filtration products including the MagnaClean Professional 28mm filter.

2.  Do I need to use a power-flushing machine with the MagnaCleanse process?

No. The MagnaCleanse process has been developed for use while the central heating system is operating. This eliminates the need for a power-flushing machine.

3.  Can I use chemicals with the MagnaCleanse process?

Yes. All leading industry chemicals or acids can be used in conjunction with the MagnaCleanse process. The large black canisters can be used as a dosing vessel to release the chemical into the system.

4.  Which is the ‘flow’ and which is the ‘return’ on the MagnaCleanse hose
to valve (HTV)

The inlet and outlet on the MagnaCleanse hose to valve connections are reversible and there is no flow restriction.

5.  Where do I install the MagnaCleanse valves on the central heating system?

In order to achieve the best protection for the boiler, it is important that the MagnaCleanse process is carried out with the MagnaCleanse HTV attached to the return pipe of the system, between the last radiator and the boiler. In determining a suitable location for installation, it is important to ensure you allow adequate access for servicing.

6.  Why do you partly re-fill the central heating system during the MagnaCleanse process ensuring that the radiators are only half-full?

The system is partly filled so that the hardened sludge deposits in the radiator can be agitated more effectively using the VibraClean.

7.  How will VibraClean make the MagnaCleanse process more effective?

Our experience has shown that it is possible to remove more sludge in 20 seconds than 30 minutes of operation without VibraClean. The precision radiator agitator liberates sludge and hardened deposits without the need to remove a radiator again.

8.  Can the MagnaCleanse process be used on any central heating system?

Yes. The MagnaCleanse process will work effectively on any domestic central heating system in the vast majority of cases. Only in extreme cases of heavy system sludge will a full conventional power-flush be required.

9.  Does the MagnaCleanse connection heat up during operation of the process?

Yes. During operation, the HTV connection heats up as it comes into contact with the hot water from the system boiler. Caution should be exercised when touching the MagnaCleanse connection whilst in use.
