ADEY worked with Aberdeen company A1 Tradesmen’s Dennis Douglas and boiler manufacturer Worcester Bosch. A new boiler and all parts were donated to the rescue team which has responsibility for the Cairngorm Mountains and lower hills of Deeside and Donside.
“Everything is now working spot on. It’s perfect and you can’t imagine the difference it makes when you’ve been out all weekend in the snow, sometimes up to your waist, to come back to a headquarters and it’s warm as toast,” explains Deputy Mountain Rescue Team leader Alan Crichton.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved very much for their most kind and appreciated donations to our rescue team. As with most mountain rescue teams, we live a hand to mouth existence. It costs around £30k a year in running expenses, half of which we may manage to raise on our annual sponsored walk, so help like this really makes a difference to us and our volunteers.
“When we return from some training weekends in atrocious conditions all our gear gets soaked, ropes, sleeping bags and clothes so it’s so important to have somewhere warm to dry out the team and all our gear.”
ADEY’s National Sales Director Roger Williams said he was pleased they could help out with such a worthwhile cause adding that as with Aberdeen Mountain Rescue, it was very much a team effort with the other companies involved.
